Description

We offer natural spruce needle hydrolate for perfumery, whose raw material comes from the species Picea abies. In international practice, the product is designated as Spruce natural hydrolate for perfumery. Steam distillation links the needles to the final profile, as the aqueous phase takes up their volatile substances and preserves the strength of the scent in the liquid. The aroma is strong, and in it the fresh side runs together with the resinous side and the forest nuances right to the end of the profile. The needles are separated for production, while the cones remain unused. The areas are managed naturally, which is why the needles remain free of chemical agents and artificial feeding throughout the entire growth period. The plant is classified in the Pinaceae family, and the plantations occupy areas in Bulgaria. The color covers tones from colorless to pale yellow. The pale tint comes from the substances that the needles release into the water during processing. The liquid looks clear and keeps a uniform appearance throughout its depth. The resin ducts in the mesophyll of the needle follow its longitudinal axis and give rise to the resinous tone, which also passes into the finished liquid itself. Bornyl acetate, limonene, pinene and borneol are named among the leading volatile constituents of the needles and the one-year-old twigs of this plant species. The oxygenated monoterpenes borneol and terpineol are named as the main compounds in the aqueous phase. In addition, the composition comprises water and the volatile compounds of the needles, while added colorants and preservatives are absent. The natural cultivation regime is reflected in the composition of the finished liquid. The fresh resinous base remains dominant in natural spruce needle hydrolate.

Application
Spruce needle hydrolate from Picea abies, obtained by steam distillation, is used in refined olfactory compositions with a forest character. It is present in interior essences, fresh body sprays and delicate eaux de toilette with a woody and resinous nuance. It is also included in base liquids for testers and diffuser essences with forest and woody nuances. Thanks to its strong, fresh and resinous profile, it is a valuable ingredient for balanced and unique olfactory formulas.

Storage

Store natural spruce needle hydrolate in a dark, cool and dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Maintain a temperature of +4°C to +10°C to limit the growth of microorganisms. After opening, use the contents within 6 months and limit the amount of air in the container. Use only aluminum or glass bottles for perfumery products, preferably dark glass, which protect the hydrolate for perfumery from light. Close tightly after each use to prevent air and contaminants from entering. Observing these conditions preserves the freshness and quality of the product for a longer period.
