Description
Our organic anise hydrolate for cosmetics originates from the plant with the botanical name Pimpinella anisum. In international practice, the liquid is referred to as Aniseed organic hydrolate for cosmetics. The liquid looks clear, and its color shifts from colorless to pale yellow when viewed in daylight and stays within narrow limits throughout the entire volume. The pale shade indicates a scarce content of coloring compounds in the aqueous phase. The aqueous phase carries a scent of medium strength, whose herbal character comes to the fore, while the fine floral finish joins only at the last impression. The floral finish remains restrained, since the water absorbs a limited part of the volatile constituents. The volatile constituents accumulate in the fruit and thus determine the entire scent of the product. The fruit is a whole cremocarp and often retains part of the thin curved stalk by which it hung on the inflorescence of the plant before ripening. The stalks develop on plants of the Apiaceae family. The plants grow in Bulgaria under an organic regime that excludes synthetic agents for treating the crops and artificial feeding of the soil around them. The exclusion of external intervention is evident precisely in the entirely organic composition. The composition is limited to the water from the extraction and the volatile substances of the fruit, while preservatives and colorants are completely absent from it. The absence of additives leaves the scent entirely to the plant source and also maintains the transparency of the liquid. The transparency and softness of the profile result from extraction with steam. The softness accompanies the herbal tone throughout the entire volume of the distillate. The fruit origin gives this distillate a restrained, sweetish finish.
Application
Anise hydrolate is widely used as an ingredient in cosmetic products for the face, body and hair. It is included in the aqueous phase of toners, micellar waters and aromatic facial waters, as well as in refreshing sprays and mists that leave a feeling of freshness on the skin. It is suitable for day and night care creams, serums, eye contour products and formulas intended for sensitive skin, where it adds a delicate herbal aroma. In cleansing, it is present in face washing gels and foams, exfoliants and soaps, while in body care it is incorporated into lotions, moisturizing milks, nourishing oils, balms and shower gels. It is also used in hand and foot creams, lip balms, shaving gels and aftershave lotions, as well as in after-sun care products. In hair care, it is part of the composition of shampoos, conditioners, masks and serums, complementing their aromatic profile with soft herbal and slightly sweet notes. Thanks to its good compatibility with the other ingredients, it can be included in face masks with a firming and toning effect, in protective skin creams and in daily care products where a pleasant feel during use is sought.
