Description

We present natural melissa hydrolate for detergents, obtained from the plant Melissa officinalis. On foreign markets, the liquid is offered under the name Melissa natural hydrolate for detergents. The Lamiaceae family includes the species in botanical classification. Distillation with steam gives the liquid an aroma that remains close to the original leaf raw material and preserves its character in the finished product. The raw material comprises the leaves with their stalks, ovate blades, cordate bases and serrated margins along the edge. The aromatic compounds are stored in glandular hairs on the outer side of the blades and pass from there into the liquid. The aroma acts mildly in strength, and the fresh, herbal and citrus direction makes up the scent. Colorless and faintly yellowish shades outline the color range of the liquid. The product retains a liquid and uniform form. The plants grow in Bulgarian plantations, and the natural method of cultivation keeps the composition of the distillate free of foreign substances. Since no artificial agents are involved in the development of the plants, the distillate remains free of preservatives and colorants in its composition. Along with the volatile substances, the leaves also contain non-volatile rosmarinic acid, which remains in the plant residue. In addition, citral and citronellal lead among the aromatic substances of the species and determine the citrus note in the scent of the finished distillate. The light color comes from the leaves used, while the mild aroma is due to the steam extraction method. Therefore, melissa arrives at a liquid with a pure composition, mild aroma and light color, which go together.

Application
Melissa leaf hydrolate, extracted naturally by steam distillation, is used in the production of cleaning detergents with a fresh, herbal aroma and a refreshing effect. It is suitable for all-purpose surface solutions, disinfecting liquids with a balanced character and formulas for maintaining hygiene in kitchens and bathrooms. It is applied in floor solutions, glass and furniture products, as well as in liquids for textile surfaces, to which it gives a light citrus note. It is also used in the creation of air fresheners for enclosed spaces, products for sanitary areas and solutions for everyday home cleaning. Thanks to its fresh character, it naturally enriches the aroma of household chemicals and is suitable for formulas intended for everyday household use.

Storage

Store natural melissa hydrolate in a dark, cool and dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Maintain a temperature of +4°C to +10°C to limit the growth of microorganisms. After opening, use the contents within 6 months and limit the amount of air in the container. Use only aluminum or glass bottles for detergent products, preferably dark glass, which protect the hydrolate for detergents from light. Close tightly after each use to prevent air and contaminants from entering. Observing these conditions preserves the freshness and quality of the product for a longer period.
