Description

We present an organic juniper needle hydrolate for animals, obtained from the plant Juniperus communis. The liquid is known in practice as Juniper Needle organic hydrolate for animals. According to botanical systematics, the species belongs to the Cupressaceae family. The needles remain the only source of raw material, and their needle-like structure stays with the tree to the end and is arranged in whorls along the twigs. The trees in Bulgaria are tended according to organic rules and remain free of synthetic agents. Steam distillation keeps the aroma unchanged, as no solvents are involved and the volatile fraction originates entirely from the source needle mass of the tree. The oxygenated volatile compounds collect in the aqueous phase, and it is precisely they that carry the aromatic direction. The aroma retains a medium degree of intensity. The fresh pine side combines with a resinous one in the overall scent of the distillate. Monoterpene hydrocarbons lead in the volatile fraction of the needles, with pinene and sabinene at the forefront. The distillate is a clear liquid whose color covers the range between colorless and pale yellow. On the upper part of each needle, a grayish waxy bloom stands out along the stomatal band. The needle basis of the raw material determines the faint color, because the water carries out almost exclusively colorless constituents, while the pigments remain in the leaf tissue itself. The organic composition admits no preservative or coloring substances. In addition, the organic cultivation practice and the raw material limited to the needles determine a liquid made up of plant volatile substances and pure water. Along with the clear liquid form, the medium strength of the aroma defines the character of the juniper distillate.

Application

It is used in shampoos to maintain the shine of the coat, freshening lotions and balms to soothe irritated skin. It is applied in sprays to neutralize unpleasant odors on the coat, sleeping spots and cages, as well as in cleansing foams for paws and gels for the care of dry or sensitive skin. It is suitable for creams to moisturize the paws, lotions for recovery after a walk and balms with a softening effect on cracked skin. It is also used in products for the daily hygiene of dogs and cats, including ear cleaning solutions, coat wipes and sprays for keeping sleeping areas and transport crates fresh. Thanks to its mild action, it is included in formulas for calming after veterinary procedures, gels for relieving irritation from bites and lotions for care during seasonal shedding, as well as in products for maintaining good hygiene of four-legged friends.

Storage

Store organic juniper needle hydrolate in a dark, cool and dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Maintain a temperature of +4°C to +10°C to limit the growth of microorganisms. After opening, use the contents within 6 months and limit the amount of air in the container. Use only aluminum or glass bottles for animal products, preferably dark glass, which protect the hydrolate for animals from light. Close tightly after each use to prevent air and contaminants from entering. Observing these conditions preserves the freshness and quality of the product for a longer period.
