We present organic melissa essential oil for supplements, which comes from the species Melissa officinalis. In international practice, the oil is designated as Melissa organic essential oil for supplements. The consistency of the oil remains liquid and homogeneous. The liquid medium has a colour ranging between colourless and pale yellow, and the origin of this shade lies in the aboveground stalk used. The stalk yields a volatile fraction with a barely hinted pigment of its own, so the liquid remains light. The aroma manifests as sharp in strength and encompasses sweet, spicy and slightly citrus nuances. The citrus tint in the scent is due to citral, which predominates among the volatile substances of the plant and shapes its easily recognisable character.
