Description
Our natural immortelle essential oil for pharmaceuticals is obtained from the plant with the botanical name Helichrysum italicum. In international practice, it is designated as Immortelle natural essential oil for pharmaceuticals. The oil has a liquid consistency and a pale yellow hue, as the flowers used impart their own tone to the essential fraction extracted from them. The flowers give a sweet, warm aroma whose profile clearly reveals herbal and woody notes with a plant character. The fragrance develops at a medium intensity. The aromatic substances come from a plant in the botanical family Asteraceae, which includes a large number of flowering species worldwide. The species is a perennial subshrub naturally distributed throughout the Mediterranean and neighbouring areas of Southern Europe, as well as North Africa. For the offered essential oil, the plants are cultivated naturally in Bulgaria. Natural cultivation determines the composition of the oil, which comprises only the substances belonging to the flowers used. The composition contains no added preservatives. Colourants are also absent from its entire contents. These aromatic substances are extracted through steam distillation of the harvested floral raw material. Distillation separates the volatile compounds from the floral raw material, so the fragrance of the product remains pure and close to the olfactory character of the plant itself. The pure fragrance accompanies a liquid whose ingredients are all of entirely natural plant origin.

Application
Natural immortelle essential oil takes part in pharmaceutical production as an aromatic ingredient of ointments, gels and creams for external use. Ointments incorporate it into a greasy base, while creams contain it in an emulsion of aqueous and oil phases. Water-based gels also carry the essential component in their composition. The liquid consistency of the raw material facilitates its incorporation into all three types of formulations, as it disperses in their greasy and aqueous phases. In each of these bases, the oil serves as an odour corrective that masks the unpleasant olfactory characteristics of the other components. Odour correctives belong to the auxiliary substances, which is why the essential ingredient is classed among the inactive components of the formulation. Precisely as an auxiliary substance, it gives the product its own aromatic profile. The profile combines a sweet and warm heart with a herbal-woody finish. The finish contributes to the olfactory character of the gels and ointments. Alongside odour correction, natural immortelle essential oil brings fragrance to creams for external use, where it combines the roles of an aromatic ingredient and an auxiliary substance.

Storage

Store natural immortelle essential oil in a dark, cool and dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Maintain a temperature of +5°C to +20°C to prevent oxidation and changes in quality. After opening, limit the amount of air in the packaging and, as the contents decrease, transfer the remainder to a smaller, clean and dry bottle. Use only aluminium or glass bottles for pharmaceutical products, preferably dark glass, which protect the essential oil for pharmaceuticals from light. Close tightly after each use to prevent air and moisture from entering. Observing these conditions preserves the quality and safety of the product for a longer period.
