Description
We offer organic basil essential oil from Greece for perfumery, obtained from the plant Ocimum basilicum. In international trade, the product is offered under the name Basil organic essential oil for perfumery. The product presents a strong aroma with a herbaceous, sweet direction. The aroma is based on linalool, which predominates among the oxygenated monoterpenes in the distilled oil. Linalool comes from the above-ground stalk, whose green tissues give the liquid a golden-yellow colour. The liquid flows freely and remains homogeneous. The volume comes from the harvest of the Greek plantings, where the species from the family Lamiaceae is grown organically and harvested as a whole stalk. The family brings together plants with glandular hairs, and the natural range of the species extends from tropical and subtropical Asia to Northern Australia. This range is far away, while the farms supplying our raw material are in Greece. The farms exclude synthetic agents, so the composition remains entirely organic. It contains only the volatile substances of the stalk, without preservatives or colourants. Preservatives and colourants have no place in the liquid because steam distillation transfers only the natural volatile molecules that the stalk accumulates in its glandular hairs. The hairs cover the entire above-ground plant material, while the volatile contents are found only in the peltate hairs. The volatile fraction fills the volume of the oil and also comes entirely from the above-ground stalk of the plant itself. The profile of the product is formed solely from the raw material of the Greek organic field.

Application
The oil is widely used in perfumery, where it is valued for its fresh green character and its ability to build distinct herbal accents in fragrance compositions. It is used in the creation of men's, women's and unisex fragrances, eaux de toilette and colognes, bringing liveliness to citrus combinations and complementing floral and herbal profiles. Within the structure of a composition, it can highlight both top and middle notes, balance the fragrance pyramid and give fresh daytime and summer formulas an energising character, while adding a subtle herbal nuance to evening formulas. It blends harmoniously with lavender, mint and raw materials with woody and green nuances, making it suitable for niche and luxury fragrances, designer ranges and organic formulas with organic ingredients. In addition to classic perfumery products, it is incorporated into aromatic oils, body mists and lotions, creams, soaps and spa products, as well as candles, diffusers, air fresheners and sprays for clothes and linen, where its pure herbal freshness creates a sense of closeness to nature. It is also suitable for aromatherapy blends and compositions with a relaxing character, including those intended for practices such as yoga and meditation.

Storage

Store organic basil essential oil in a dark, cool and dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Maintain a temperature of +5°C to +20°C to prevent oxidation and the loss of beneficial properties. After opening, limit the amount of air in the packaging and, as the contents decrease, transfer the remainder to a smaller, clean and dry bottle. Use only aluminium or glass bottles for perfumery products, preferably dark glass, which protect the essential oil for perfumery from light. Close tightly after each use to prevent air and moisture from entering. Observing these conditions preserves the aroma and quality of the product for a longer period.
