Description
Our organic laurel leaf essential oil for aromatherapy from Greece is obtained from the plant with the botanical name Laurus nobilis. In international practice the product is designated as Bay leaf organic essential oil for aromatherapy. The plant belongs to the family Lauraceae, whose Mediterranean representatives remain evergreen throughout the year and maintain a constant green mass on the coastal slopes. The Mediterranean range also covers Greece, where the raw material comes from. The raw material grows under organic cultivation, in which the plantations are maintained without synthetic auxiliary substances and preserve the natural profile of the green mass. Cultivation without auxiliary substances determines the fully organic composition of the liquid. The composition goes without preservatives, while colourants remain entirely aside. The liquid is obtained by steam distillation, which carries over the volatile constituents unchanged and therefore gives the olfactory characteristic a pronounced purity. The olfactory purity is complemented by the origin, since the Greek plantations grow in a dry and warm climate, which researchers associate with the volatile composition. In addition, steam distillation preserves the natural appearance of the raw material, which is why the finished liquid bears the marks of the plant material released during extraction. The plant material yields a product with a liquid consistency. The liquid consistency is combined with a strong odour, which remains clearly perceptible and defines the olfactory appearance of the liquid. The strong odour unites a fresh herbal base with spicy-woody notes, which form a recognisable profile of the distillate. Alongside the olfactory profile the product also shows a distinct colour. The colour moves in a light yellow tone, typical of oils distilled from Greek raw material. The light yellow tone derives from the lanceolate leaves, which serve for the extraction.

Maintain a temperature from +5°C to +20°C to prevent oxidation and the loss of beneficial properties. After opening, limit the amount of air in the packaging, and as the contents decrease, pour the remainder into a smaller, clean and dry bottle. Use only aluminium or glass bottles for aromatherapy products, preferably of dark glass, which protect the essential oil for aromatherapy from light.
