Description
We offer natural spruce needle hydrolate for supplements, obtained from the needles of the tree Picea abies. In international trade, the liquid bears the name Spruce natural hydrolate for supplements. Cultivation follows a natural approach, and it is precisely the absence of synthetic agents and artificial fertilization that keeps the needles clean until the day of processing itself. The species is placed in the Pinaceae family, and the areas with the trees lie in Bulgaria. Production is based on steam distillation, and for this reason the fresh course of the scent stays close to the needles as they are on the tree itself. The needles are retained for processing, while the other parts of the tree are discarded. The aroma is strong and brings together a fresh and a resinous side in one common course that lasts a long time. The great strength of the scent comes from the resin ducts, which lie in the mesophyll of the needle along its longitudinal axis and retain the volatile substances. The color stays between colorless and a pale yellow tint. The tint is due to the coloring substances that the needles release into the water during processing. The clear liquid keeps an even appearance throughout its depth. The needles and one-year-old twigs carry bornyl acetate, limonene, pinene and borneol, which are among the leading volatile constituents of this tree species. The basis of the aqueous phase in this species is formed by oxygenated monoterpenes, including borneol and terpineol, which are characteristic of coniferous species. In addition, water and the free volatile compounds of the raw material remain in the liquid, while added colorants and preservatives find no place. The natural cultivation regime determines the pure composition of the final product. The fresh resinous course continues to the end in this natural spruce needle hydrolate.
