We offer organic melissa essential oil for cosmetics, which is obtained from the plant with the botanical name Melissa officinalis. In international practice, the liquid is referred to as Melissa organic essential oil for cosmetics. The liquid consistency defines the appearance of the product, and its colour ranges from colourless to pale yellow. The pale hue derives from the aboveground stalk used, which releases a faintly coloured volatile fraction during extraction. The aroma of the product remains sharp in intensity. The sweet and spicy side of the scent is complemented by a light citrus undertone, which derives from the isomers of citral that predominate among the volatile constituents of the species. The volatile constituents accumulate in the aerial parts of the plant, which belongs to the Lamiaceae family and grows naturally from the Mediterranean to Central Asia. The plantations that supply our raw material are located in Bulgaria. The profile of the volatile fraction in this species varies according to geographical origin and growing conditions. The raw material from these plantations undergoes steam distillation, which is why the scent of the finished liquid retains the purity and sharpness characteristic of the aboveground stalk. In addition, the product owes its pronounced character to the plant raw material. The composition consists solely of organic plant matter, and added substances are absent from it. The organic cultivation of the plantations without synthetic fertilisers and pesticides maintains the entirely organic composition of the liquid, in which preservatives and colourants are completely absent. The aboveground stalk of melissa remains the only plant part involved in forming the liquid.

Organic melissa essential oil is used in the production of a variety of cosmetics aimed mainly at skin care. It is included in products for soothing irritated skin, for reducing redness, inflammation and acne and for calming the skin after epilation, as well as in creams for sensitive skin. It is suitable for compositions for rejuvenating and toning mature skin, for reducing signs of fatigue and for enriching anti-ageing creams and antioxidant serums. The oil is used for deep hydration of dry and sensitive skin, as well as for maintaining a balanced hydrolipidic layer and for stimulating natural cell renewal and blood circulation. It is included in products for refreshing the complexion, for removing dark spots and unevenness and for deep cleansing of the skin. It is used in face masks, in lip balms and in products for regenerating the skin after sunburn, as well as for refreshing the skin during the summer months. Thanks to its gentle herbal and slightly citrus character, melissa fits naturally into face and body formulas, in which it combines a soothing and refreshing action with care for sensitive and mature skin in everyday life.

Storage

Store organic melissa essential oil in a dark, cool and dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Maintain a temperature of +5°C to +20°C to prevent oxidation and the loss of beneficial properties. After opening, limit the amount of air in the packaging, and as the contents decrease, pour the remainder into a smaller, clean and dry bottle. Use only aluminium or glass bottles for cosmetic products, preferably made of dark glass, which protect the essential oil for cosmetics from light. Close tightly after each use so that air and moisture do not penetrate. Observing these conditions preserves the aroma and quality of the product for a longer period.
