Description
We present organic basil essential oil for supplements, obtained from the species Ocimum basilicum. The product is offered under the name Basil organic essential oil for supplements. The contents of the liquid consist of entirely organic plant material. The organic material enters the product without added preservatives, as the cultivation method excludes chemical intervention on the growing green herbal mass. Colourants are also absent from the product, because every substance in it comes from the plant itself. The oil retains a liquid consistency and a strong olfactory character. This character follows a herbaceous-sweet direction and remains recognisable across the entire olfactory range of the liquid. The strength of the fragrance comes from the volatile ingredients of the species, led by linalool and methylchavicol. The fragrance originates from a herbaceous species that taxonomy assigns to the family Lamiaceae. The family supplies a large proportion of the known essential oils and brings together the most aromatic herbs of the temperate zone worldwide. One of these herbs has an established place in Bulgarian agriculture, and its plantations in Bulgaria provide all the plant raw material for the oil. The plantations are grown organically, and their above-ground stalk gives the finished oil its golden-yellow colour through the pigments in its green tissues. Steam distillation separates only the volatile fraction from the stalk, so the fragrance retains the purity of the living green herb. Alongside this purity is the Bulgarian origin of all the plant raw material. The above-ground stalk of basil enters the composition as the sole raw material.

The oil is also used in cosmetic skin care thanks to its pronounced antibacterial qualities, as well as in compositions for maintaining normal cholesterol levels and supporting liver function. It combines easily with plant-based carriers and other active substances, allowing precise dosing in hard capsules, soft gelatin capsules, liquid ingredients and functional formulas. Its pronounced herbaceous and sweet aroma also makes it a preferred component in aromatic blends intended for oral use, where it contributes to a pleasant flavour profile without dominating the other ingredients.

Storage

Store organic basil essential oil in a dark, cool and dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Maintain a temperature of +5°C to +20°C to prevent oxidation and changes in quality. After opening, limit the amount of air in the packaging and, as the contents decrease, transfer the remainder to a smaller, clean and dry bottle. Use only aluminium or glass bottles for dietary supplements, preferably dark glass, which protect the essential oil for supplements from light. Close tightly after each use to prevent air and moisture from entering. Observing these conditions preserves the quality and safety of the product for a longer period.
