Description

We present natural hyssop essential oil for perfumery, obtained from the species Hyssopus officinalis. The product is offered under the name Hyssop natural essential oil for perfumery. The liquid in it remains mobile and homogeneous, and its colour ranges between colourless and a pale yellow shade. The shade comes from the aboveground stalk, whose green stems and leaves enter the distillation with faintly coloured substances in their tissues. The scent of the liquid comes out sharp, and its tones pass through the herbal and camphoraceous area. The stalk grows on plantations in Bulgaria, where the plant develops as a perennial subshrub of the family Lamiaceae with upright fragrant shoots and narrow leaves. The plantations are maintained in a natural way, since this regime leaves in the raw material only its own plant substances and preserves its natural appearance. Steam distillation separates the volatile fraction from the plant tissue and therefore preserves the pure herbal character of the starting material without change in its olfactory appearance. The fraction contains isopinocamphone and pinocamphone from the group of monoterpene ketones, and beta-pinene stands next to them and complements the camphoraceous depth of the profile. The composition remains fully natural throughout its whole range. In addition, the composition goes without preservatives and without colourants. Its purity originates from the natural cultivation of the plantations and from the attention to the flowering aboveground part during extraction. The volatile content accumulates in the glandular hairs on the stems and leaves of the subshrub and from there passes into the finished product. The hyssop oil covers the herbal and camphoraceous area that the ketone fraction of the species shapes.

Storage

Store natural hyssop essential oil in a dark, cool and dry place, away from direct sunlight and sources of heat. Maintain a temperature from +5°C to +20°C to prevent oxidation and the loss of beneficial properties. After opening, limit the amount of air in the packaging, and when the contents decrease, pour the remainder into a smaller, clean and dry bottle. Use only aluminium or glass bottles for perfumery products, preferably of dark glass, which protect the essential oil for perfumery from light. Close tightly after each use so that air and moisture do not penetrate. Observing these conditions preserves the aroma and quality of the product for a longer period.
