Description

We present organic geranium root hydrolate for animals, obtained from the plant Geranium macrorrhizum. The hydrolate reaches the international market under the name Geranium Root organic hydrolate for Pets. In appearance, the product is a clear liquid. The aromatic part remains dissolved in the aqueous base, which is why the strength of the scent stays soft at all times. The herbal character leads, while the warmth and light sweetness line up behind it in the overall aromatic profile. The color varies between light yellow and greenish. The tone stems from the pigments of the rhizome, which is why the plant source is evident in the finished distillate. Only the rhizome is processed. Steam distillation shapes the clean aromatic profile, as only the volatile compounds of the underground rhizome remain in the liquid together with the water itself. The Geraniaceae family unites perennial genera in which the rhizome accumulates volatile substances and becomes the main source for the distillation of the species. The plantations in Bulgaria are grown organically. The organic care of the plantations limits the content to an aqueous base and volatile substances, so colorants and preservatives are excluded from the composition of the liquid. Some populations contain citronellol and geraniol, others sesquiterpene ketones, and this is where the differences in the warmth of the distillate's profile come from. The ingredient is suitable for sprays that freshen the coat, neutralize unpleasant odors and maintain healthy skin in dogs, cats and horses, as well as for massage gels and gels that strengthen the hair. For horses, the hydrolate is used in bathing solutions, in skin hydration products and in mane and tail balms. It is also useful in specialized paw care formulas, including for cleaning paws after a walk and for protective balms, as well as in ear cleaning preparations for dogs and cats. In the hygiene segment, the ingredient is included in cleaning solutions for rodent and bird cages, in products for terrariums and aquarium accessories, in bedding products and in sprays for disinfecting toys. Further possibilities are offered by formulas for reducing itching and dandruff, products for preventing skin irritation, sprays that help reduce stress and solutions for coat care in show animals.

Storage

Store organic geranium root hydrolate in a dark, cool and dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Maintain a temperature of +4°C to +10°C to limit the growth of microorganisms. After opening, use the contents within 6 months and limit the amount of air in the container. Use only aluminum or glass bottles for animal products, preferably dark glass, which protect the hydrolate for animals from light. Close tightly after each use to prevent air and contaminants from entering. Observing these conditions preserves the freshness and quality of the product for a longer period.
