Description

We offer organic geranium root hydrolate for drinks, obtained from the species Geranium macrorrhizum. In international practice, the distillate is referred to as Geranium Root organic hydrolate for drinks. The aromatic strength remains soft, and the herbal base carries a warm and slightly sweet nuance throughout the aromatic profile. The plant forms several chemotypes; in some, citronellol and geraniol predominate, in others the sesquiterpene ketones, and this is where the difference in the warmth of the scent comes from. Only the rhizome is processed. Steam distillation sets the clean aromatic profile, as the aqueous phase takes up only the volatile part of the underground raw material and leaves the rest aside. The color varies from light yellow to greenish. The coloring comes from the underground part, which is why the plant source is clearly evident in the tone of the finished liquid as well. The harvest is gathered from Bulgarian fields. Organic cultivation determines the simplified content of the liquid, which is why water and volatile substances fill the entire volume of the finished distillate. Preservatives and colorants remain outside the composition of the liquid. The Geraniaceae family brings together genera with powerful rhizomes, in which the volatile substances are retained below the surface and provide raw material for steam distillation. The distillate is a clear liquid with a soft aromatic strength. The warm side of the profile rests on the sesquiterpene compounds, while the light sweetness merely complements the herbal backbone of the overall scent of the distillate. In addition, autumn brings the harvesting of the underground mass, so the extraction is linked to the end of the growing season. The geranium root leaves both the light tone and the warm herbal scent in the finished liquid.

Application
Organic geranium root hydrolate is used as a fine aromatic ingredient in a variety of non-alcoholic drinks, to which it imparts a soft herbal taste and a delicate earthy nuance. It is suitable for refreshing lemonades, cold and iced teas and tea blends, where it adds depth and natural freshness. In kombucha and cold herbal infusions, it highlights the botanical character of the recipe, while in flavored, mineral and detox waters it adds a light root note that enriches the flavor profile. It is often used in smoothies, shakes and vegan dairy alternatives, as it combines harmoniously with fruit and herbal flavors. It is a good choice for non-alcoholic cocktails and fresh fruit juices, to which it gives a floral finish, as well as for syrups and concentrates intended for subsequent dilution. It is also included in recipes for functional, sports and energy formulas, in tonic elixirs and herbal shots for the overall tone of the body, as well as in flavored ayran and cold lattes with a botanical accent. It finds a place in the offerings of juice bars, restaurants and catering companies looking for natural aromatic solutions for their summer blends and gourmet recipes.
