Description
Our natural Scots pine essential oil for pharmaceuticals is obtained from the needles of the evergreen trees with the botanical name Pinus sylvestris. The product bears the name White Pine natural essential oil for pharmaceuticals on international markets. The trees belong to the Pinaceae family and occur from the coastal lowlands in the north to the high mountain belts in the southern parts of their range. Bulgaria's high mountain belts contain the main populations, while the coniferous forest covers the Rhodopes, Rila, Pirin and Osogovo. The forest grows under natural cultivation, which is why the needles' range of terpenes remains intact. This range passes into the oil during steam distillation, and the method keeps the fresh olfactory character pure and clear. The character remains fresh, strong and refreshing. The liquid consistency takes on a pale yellow to yellow-green tone because the green needles transfer part of their pigment to the oil. The coniferous tone gives the product a recognisable olfactory direction that stems from the mountain origin of the raw material and remains clearly perceptible to the very end. The mountain raw material carries a concentrated reserve of volatile substances, as the tree species grows slowly on the poor, stony soils of the high, exposed slopes. The reserve remains full and gives the liquid a dense olfactory weight. This weight comes from the terpene composition, in which monoterpenes have the largest presence. The composition also includes sesquiterpenes and diterpenes, while preservatives and colourants are entirely absent. The product's natural composition remains entirely plant-based, collected solely from the needles of the mountain pine stands.
