Description
We present natural thyme hydrolate for cosmetics, obtained from the plant Thymus Vulgaris. In trade outside the country, the product bears the name Thyme Natural Hydrolat. The extraction is carried out with steam, and therefore the scent preserves the pure herbal line that comes from the processed aboveground mass of the plant itself. The aboveground stalk is used for processing, and the dark color range of the liquid, from yellowish to dark brown, results precisely from this dense plant part. The liquid is clear and homogeneous in appearance. The genus belongs to the Lamiaceae family. The leading constituents of the thymol chemotype are thymol, cymene, terpinene and carvacrol, which is why the strength of the aroma reaches a high level and the woody note is clearly perceptible behind the herbal base. The plantations are maintained on Bulgarian land. The plants grow naturally, since only in this way does the composition of the liquid remain free of preservatives and colorants. The strength of the scent is high, while the herbal base keeps the woody notes in the background of the overall profile. In addition, color and aroma originate from the same aboveground mass, which links the dark color range of the liquid with its dense herbal scent. The liquid accepts no additives beyond its own plant composition. The hydrolate carries within it the character of the processed herb. The cultivation method keeps the composition pure, and the steam processing keeps the aroma close to what the living aboveground part carries. Alongside the pure composition, the direct relationship between the harvested raw material and the final aromatic character also remains. Thyme lies at the heart of this product, and its herbal character determines how the liquid looks and how it smells.
Application
Thyme stalk hydrolate, obtained by steam distillation from natural cultivation, is widely used in cosmetics in the production of toilet waters and lotions for blemish-prone skin. It is suitable for mattifying facial toners, cleansing gels and foaming formulas for problem skin, as well as antiperspirant sprays with a refreshing effect. It is applied in making shampoos and scalp conditioners with a toning effect, foot lotions with a refreshing and firming effect, as well as intimate hygiene formulas with a delicate herbal profile. It also finds a place in aftershave products with a soothing effect after shaving, in anti-grease hair sprays, as well as in face masks with a cleansing and balancing effect. Its stable composition also makes it suitable for adding to hand creams with a light herbal nuance, water-based deodorants and nail care products with a strengthening effect.
Storage
Store natural thyme hydrolate in a dark, cool and dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Maintain a temperature of +4°C to +10°C to limit the growth of microorganisms. After opening, use the contents within 6 to 12 months and limit the amount of air in the container. Use only aluminum or glass bottles for cosmetic products, preferably dark glass, which protect the cosmetic hydrolate from light. Close tightly after each use to prevent air and contaminants from entering. Observing these conditions preserves the freshness and quality of the product for a longer period.
