Description
We present natural thyme essential oil for supplements, obtained from the species Thymus vulgaris The product bears the name Thyme natural essential oil for supplements in international practice. The species belongs to the family Lamiaceae and grows as a low subshrub with narrow aromatic leaves covered with tiny glands with essential content. The subshrub thrives in Bulgaria, and the plantations there are grown naturally. Natural cultivation excludes synthetic auxiliary substances and thus preserves the original structure of the plant. The flowering stalk of the plant is used for extraction, as it gathers the main part of the volatile compounds accumulated in the glands on the leaves and calyces. The stalk undergoes steam distillation, which is why the aroma reaches the product in pure form. The pure form stems from the composition, which comprises only substances of plant origin. The plant origin excludes preservatives as well as artificial colourants. The liquid consistency gives the product a light and even mobility. The mobility reveals a yellow-brown to red-brown colour, which the phenolic substances of the stalk impart to the finished liquid. The colour goes hand in hand with the rich odour of the product, which remains strong. The odour combines sweet and spicy tones, along with a light citrus nuance perceptible at the periphery of the profile. In addition, the thymol ingredient gives the scent a recognisable sharpness.
