Description

Our organic tansy essential oil for foods is obtained from the plant with the botanical name Tanacetum vulgare. The product is offered under the name Tansy organic essential oil for food. The product's composition comprises an entirely organic volatile fraction obtained from the plant's flowers. The fraction comes without added preservatives or artificial colourants. The absence of such substances follows from organic cultivation, which determines the purity of all the raw material while still in the stands from which it is supplied for extraction. The stands are located in Bulgaria, while outside them the species inhabits open and uncultivated places. The species from the Bulgarian populations belongs to the Asteraceae family, which is widespread in the temperate zone of Europe. The family includes species in which volatile substances accumulate mainly in the inflorescence. The species' inflorescences serve as the raw material and carry the precursors of azulenes, from which the rich blue-green tone of the entire finished liquid originates. The tone unfolds in a liquid medium with a full olfactory presence. This presence is perceived as a strong, fresh and minty scent with a slightly sweet nuance. The mint nuance remains clear because steam distillation extracts only the volatile ingredients from the inflorescences. Steam distillation leaves the scent pure and close to that of the fresh inflorescence, so the advantages of tansy oil begin with its purity. The advantages include the single plant source, the uniform liquid consistency and the organic character of the entire contents. The flowers remain the only plant material underlying the product.

Application
Organic tansy essential oil is used in cooking only in very small doses because its aroma is strong, fresh and minty, with a pronounced herbaceous and slightly bitter character. It is traditionally used as a flavouring ingredient that gives herbaceous depth to baked goods, cakes and sweet pastries, as well as egg dishes and omelettes. It is suitable for subtly seasoning herbal sauces, toppings and dressings, in which one drop is enough for a pronounced profile, and for flavouring vinegars and salad oils. It is included in seasoning blends for meat, marinades for vegetables and legumes, and recipes for fermented products, where the natural herbaceous tone complements the flavour composition. It has a place in the preparation of herbal liqueurs and bitter aperitifs, in which the plant's characteristic note shapes the overall bouquet. In cooking, it is also used for herbaceous spreads, pâtés and cheese specialities, as well as hot soups and stews, where a small amount balances rich flavours. Because of its high concentration, the product is dosed carefully and added at the very end of preparation to preserve the freshness of the aroma. It is suitable for professional gastronomy and recipe creators seeking an authentic herbaceous accent in niche and experimental culinary offerings.

Storage

Store organic tansy essential oil in a dark, cool and dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Maintain a temperature of +5°C to +20°C to prevent oxidation and changes in quality. After opening, limit the amount of air in the packaging and, as the contents decrease, transfer the remainder to a smaller, clean and dry bottle. Use only aluminium or glass bottles for food products, preferably dark glass, which protect the essential oil for foods from light. Close tightly after each use to prevent air and moisture from entering. Observing these conditions preserves the quality and safety of the product for a longer period.
