Description

We present organic St. John's wort hydrolate for cosmetics, obtained from the plant Hypericum perforatum. The hydrolate is offered under the name St. John's wort Organic Hydrolat for Cosmetics. The species belongs to the Hypericaceae family, whose members collect their volatile substances mainly in the flowering part. The plants are grown organically in Bulgaria. The product is obtained by steam distillation, so that only a limited amount of volatile compounds passes into the aqueous phase and the scent remains mild in strength. The aromatic profile features herbal, warm and slightly sweet nuances that go together. In this species, the volatile substances accumulate in secretory cells, cavities and ducts, which is why the flowering mass carries the main aromatic weight of the raw material. The tone of the liquid ranges from colorless to pale yellow without abrupt transitions. The flowers yield a weakly colored aqueous phase, so the finished distillate remains light. The composition comprises the aqueous phase and volatile substances, as organic cultivation excludes external additives, and it contains no preservatives or colorants. In appearance, the product is a clear liquid. The herbal side leads the scent, while the warm and sweet nuances are perceived behind it and shape the end of the aromatic picture. Pinene, caryophyllene and germacrene lead the volatile profile of the flowers and shape the herbal direction. It is these compounds that link the herbal direction to the floral origin of the source material and support the mild character of the distillate. The mild strength of the aroma is due to the small volatile content that the aqueous medium retains after distillation. St. John's wort reaches its final form as a light liquid with a mild herbal scent and a slight sweet nuance.

Application
St. John's wort flower hydrolate has a wide range of applications in skin and hair care products. It can be included in moisturizing face creams that improve skin moisture and softness, as well as in cleansing toners that support the skin's balance and a feeling of freshness. It is suitable for refreshing facial mists, micellar waters and foams for gentle cleansing, and in intensive care serums it helps smooth the skin and even out the complexion. Soothing creams for sensitive skin use it to reduce discomfort and redness, while night care formulas rely on its refreshing character in regenerating products. In body care, it is present in nourishing lotions, creams and oils that restore elasticity and maintain skin smoothness, and after-bath lotions complement the restoration of moisture. Hand creams and foot lotions benefit from its softening action, and lip balms include it for protection against drying and chapping.
