Description
We offer organic St. John's wort essential oil for food, obtained from the species with the botanical name Hypericum perforatum. The product is known in international practice as St. John's Wort organic essential oil for food. The plant is a perennial herbaceous crop of the family Hypericaceae, whose species occupy the temperate latitudes of several continents throughout the northern hemisphere. The temperate latitudes of Bulgaria offer suitable conditions for the organic cultivation of this crop. Organic cultivation in these latitudes determines the pure composition of the finished oil. In addition, neither preservatives nor colourants enter the finished liquid, and the organic purity remains complete. The volatile compounds of the flowers form the basis of the composition, and scientific research on the species identifies alpha-pinene and germacrene among the most frequently encountered leading constituents. It is the leading compounds that shape the aromatic character, which the liquid conveys unchanged. The pale yellow tone of the liquid comes directly from the flowers that provide the raw material for distillation. Steam distillation maintains the purity of the scent, so the herbal warmth and the light sweet finish stand out clearly throughout the aromatic profile. The profile remains warm and mild in strength in every part. The mild strength and the herbal warmth together form the recognisable aromatic profile of St. John's wort oil. The advantage of the product lies in its Bulgarian origin, in organic farming and in the careful selection of the flower raw material from the period of full bloom. The volume of the product remains homogeneous, and its consistency retains its liquid form.
Application
Organic St. John's wort essential oil with a mild herbaceous aroma and a slightly sweet aftertaste finds application in the food industry as a flavouring and taste ingredient in a variety of products. It is used in the production of flavoured vegetable oils, herbal syrups and organic culinary mixes, as well as in formulations for organic-certified products, functional foods and superfoods with added value. The oil is used to flavour teas, honeys and liquid dietary supplements with a herbal character, and also in gourmet culinary products, natural sauces and dressings in which a delicate herbal accent without a dominant taste is sought. It is suitable for vegan and vegetarian products and for formulations without preservatives and artificial flavours, as well as for organic pâtés, creams and spreads with a floral-herbal profile. It also finds application in artisanal production, in small batches of organic products and in innovative culinary concepts. With its proven organic origin, the oil meets the requirements of food legislation and is suitable for inclusion in commercial food formulas aimed at connoisseurs of pure and natural tastes.
