Our organic spruce needle hydrolate for pharmaceuticals comes from the needles of the plant Picea abies. The product bears the name Spruce organic hydrolate for pharmaceuticals outside the Bulgarian market. The plantations occupy areas in Bulgaria, and the genus belongs to the Pinaceae family among the coniferous trees. Extraction is based on steam distillation, because in this process the volatile substances of the needles pass into the aqueous phase without losing their strength. The aroma has great strength, and the fresh base stands alongside the resinous side and the forest nuances up to the very end of the profile. Only the needles are selected for processing, while the bark and wood are kept out of the process. The care of the plantations follows organic principles, and it is precisely the rejection of chemical agents that keeps the needles clean right up to the processing of the harvested mass. The color ranges from colorless to a pale yellow shade, which is explained by substances in the needles themselves. The liquid appears clear and homogeneous when its entire volume is inspected in daylight. The strength of the scent is evident throughout the entire aromatic progression of the product. The great strength of the scent is due to resin ducts that cross the mesophyll of the needle along its longitudinal axis in this species. Bornyl acetate, limonene, pinene and borneol are described as the leading volatile substances of the needles and one-year-old twigs of this coniferous species. In the aqueous phase, oxygenated monoterpenes stand out, among them borneol and terpineol. In addition, the liquid takes up water and the volatile compounds of the needle raw material, while added colorants and preservatives do not enter it at all. Storage

Store organic spruce needle hydrolate in a dark, cool and dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Maintain a temperature of +4°C to +10°C to limit the growth of microorganisms. After opening, use the contents within 6 months and limit the amount of air in the container. Use only aluminum or glass bottles for pharmaceutical products, preferably dark glass, which protect the hydrolate for pharmaceuticals from light. Close tightly after each use to prevent air and contaminants from entering. Observing these conditions preserves the quality and safety of the product for a longer period.
