We present natural smoke tree hydrolate for supplements, obtained from the leaf mass of plants of the species Cotinus coggygria. Outside the Bulgarian market, the product bears the name Smoke Tree natural hydrolate for supplements. The plant belongs to the Anacardiaceae family, and the raw material originates from fields in Bulgaria. Cultivation follows a natural regime, so no traces of synthetic agents remain on the leaf tissue up to the day it is harvested from the fields. Steam distillation determines the purity of the profile, as only the volatile substances of the raw material pass into the liquid. The leaves are used for extraction, while the woody parts remain unprocessed. The aroma has high strength and combines a bitter and a sharp side, which is evident throughout the profile of the finished liquid in this plant species. The resin secretory canals in the leaves and bark of this genus account for the high strength of the scent in the finished liquid and give density to the profile. The product is a clear liquid whose uniformity is evident throughout its entire depth. Its transparency remains unchanged even after prolonged standing.
