We present natural smoke tree hydrolate for pharmaceuticals, obtained from the leaves of the plant Cotinus coggygria. The name Smoke Tree natural hydrolate for pharmaceuticals accompanies the product outside the Bulgarian market. The genus belongs to the Anacardiaceae family, and its raw material is sourced from local fields. Steam distillation is behind the extraction, and therefore the profile of the liquid remains close to the leaf tissue from which the aromatic substances come. The aroma holds a strong position and brings together a bitter and a sharp side, which define the entire profile. The high strength of the scent is associated with the resin canals, which in this family run through the leaves and bark and retain the volatile substances. The leaves are used for extraction, while the other parts of the plant are set aside. The plantations develop in a natural way, and it is precisely the rejection of synthetic agents that keeps the composition close to the raw material in its natural form. The product is a clear liquid with consistent transparency. The color stays between colorless and slightly greenish, and the shade is due to the pigments of the leaf mass. The leaf blade is simple and obovate, and its surface bears a grayish tint. Limonene, pinene, ocimene, terpinolene and myrcene are counted among the constituents of the leaf oil. Storage
