We offer natural smoke tree hydrolate for perfumery, whose raw material is taken from the species Cotinus coggygria. In international practice, the product bears the name Sumac Natural Hydrolat. The plant belongs to the Anacardiaceae family and occurs on fields in Bulgaria. The product is obtained by steam distillation, as this processing transfers the volatile substances of the raw material to the aqueous phase and preserves their strength. The aroma is strong, and its bitter side goes hand in hand with the sharp one. The leaves are used for extraction, while the bark and wood are set aside. In this family, secretory resin ducts develop in the leaves and in the bark, and they account for the strength of the scent. The clarity of the liquid is evident throughout its entire depth. The color ranges from colorless to slightly greenish, and the faint greenish tone comes from the pigments that the leaf tissue transfers to the water during extraction. The plants develop naturally, and it is precisely the absence of synthetic agents that keeps the composition close to the raw material. Limonene, pinene, ocimene, terpinolene and myrcene are described among the constituents of the leaf oil of this species. The leaves of this species are simple and ovate to obovate, and their grayish shade is visible over the entire surface. In addition, the liquid contains water and the aromatic substances of the leaf tissue, while colorants and preservatives remain outside the composition. The strength of the scent is due to the high content of volatile compounds that the leaf tissue releases during the extraction of the raw material with steam. The bitter-sharp tone remains dominant in this natural smoke tree hydrolate.

Storage
