Description

Our natural rosemary CO2 select extract for perfumery is produced from the leaves of the plant with the botanical name Rosmarinus officinalis. Botanical systematics assigns the species to the family Lamiaceae together with the other aromatic labiate shrubs. The volatile part of the raw material contains about one hundred and fifty individual compounds, among which monoterpenes with a low molecular weight predominate, while sesquiterpenes account for a small share. Processing accepts only the needle-like leaves of the aerial mass. Extraction is carried out with supercritical carbon dioxide, whose pressure drops at the end of the cycle and turns the medium back into a gas without a trace in the liquid mass. Residual solvents are absent for this reason, and the volatile profile reaches the final fraction unchanged. The odour strength reaches an intense and strong degree. The spicy herbal tone determines the direction of the scent, as the terpenes from the leaves carry the herbal direction. The colour takes on dark greenish and brownish tones depending on the condition of the leaf raw material. The brownish side of the range appears due to the resinous substances in the glands, while the chlorophyll from the needles maintains the greenish direction of the liquid concentrate. The liquid state is preserved at room conditions. The composition includes the leaf concentrate and nothing else, because preservatives and colourants have no place in a product obtained with a gaseous medium from the leaf mass. In addition, auxiliary solvents remain outside the extraction. The raw material comes from Bulgarian fields under a natural regime in which mineral feeding and chemical protection are not applied. The dry summer in the plain gives the shrubs a denser leaf tissue. The greenish dark hue is preserved in the liquid concentrate during closed storage.

Application

Rosemary extract is used in the perfume industry as a valuable aromatic component in perfumes with a herbal heart, eaux de toilette with an energising green profile, colognes with a clean and fresh character and niche fragrances with a pronounced herbal base. It integrates successfully into unisex perfumes with a citrus and herbal combination, roll-on perfumes for light and discreet freshness and solid perfumes with a balsamic base. It is suitable for use in scented candles with a natural profile, room fragrances based on natural raw materials, textile sprays with a long-lasting aromatic note and luxury collections where an authentic plant aroma with depth and character is sought.

Storage

Store the natural rosemary CO2 select extract in a dark, cool and dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Storage at +5°C to +20°C protects the product from oxidation and from the loss of beneficial properties. When the packaging is open, keep the amount of air to a minimum and transfer the remainder into a smaller dry bottle. Use only aluminium or glass bottles for perfumery products, preferably made of dark glass, which protect the extract for perfumery from light. Close the cap fully immediately after each use. Observing the conditions extends the period during which the aroma and quality remain unchanged.
