Description
Our natural rosemary CO2 select extract for aromatherapy is obtained from the leaves of the plant Rosmarinus officinalis, grown without synthetic agents under the field conditions of Bulgaria. The family Lamiaceae unites the species with the other labiates distributed along the shores of the Mediterranean Sea. The natural range of the species covers the entire Mediterranean Basin from the Iberian Peninsula to Asia Minor, while the Bulgarian plantings lie outside this native territory. The crop tolerates dry and poor soils without irrigation. The natural cultivation regime excludes chemical fertilisers, so the leaf mass enters processing clean. Only the needle-like leaf part passes into the extract. Extraction takes place with supercritical carbon dioxide, which separates as a gas after the pressure is lowered and leaves no traces in the resulting select fraction. The absence of residual solvents follows from the gaseous nature of the medium, as the separation proceeds without a liquid carrier. The consistency remains liquid at normal storage temperature. The colour covers dark greenish and brownish tones that come from the pigments and waxes of the leaf tissue. The greenish base derives from the chlorophyll in the needles, while the brownish hue is due to the resinous diterpenes collected in the glands on the underside of the needle-like leaves. The aroma of the liquid fraction reveals a spicy herbal profile. The odour strength reaches an intense and strong degree, because the volatile monoterpenes are concentrated in the select fraction. The composition is limited to the leaf concentrate of the plant, because preservatives, colourants and auxiliary additives remain outside it with this extraction method. In addition, water and auxiliary solvents play no part in the extraction. The dark greenish range defines the appearance of the concentrate in a closed container.
Application
Rosemary extract is widely used in aromatherapy as an active component in room diffusers, inhalation blends, massage oil blends with a toning effect, air sprays, roll-on applicators and scented bath salts. It is included in aromatherapy rituals for improving concentration and mental alertness, in relaxing blends for evening use and in compresses for muscle recovery. It is suitable for direct use in cold and warm inhalations, for enriching massage oils with a herbal note, for scenting yoga and meditation mats, as well as for creating personalised aroma blends for home and studio practice.
Storage
Store the natural rosemary CO2 select extract in a dark, cool and dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. The storage temperature must be from +5°C to +20°C, as a higher temperature leads to oxidation. After opening, reduce the air in the packaging, and when less content remains, transfer the remainder into a clean and dry bottle of smaller volume. Light is blocked by dark glass and by aluminium, so these are preferred for aromatherapy products. Tight closing after use protects the content from air and moisture. Observing these conditions preserves the aroma and quality of the product for a longer period.
Attention !!!
Please use the rosemary extract according to the described instructions and follow the safety recommendations. Contact with the eyes and mucous membranes is avoided, and in case of contact the area is rinsed with water. Stop using the rosemary extract if an allergy such as redness or irritation appears. We recommend performing an allergy test before use.
