The product bears the name Oregano Organic Hydrolat for Pharmaceuticals. Since the peltate glandular trichomes on the leaves give rise to the volatile fraction, the raw material has a rich aromatic character and a great strength of scent. The glandular cells remain under a common cuticle, and the secretion is released at the moment the cuticle ruptures. The species is classified in the Lamiaceae family, and the plantations occupy cultivated areas on Bulgarian soil. The organic order of cultivation excludes external additives, which is why the distillate contains only substances from the leaves, without preservatives and without added colorants. Steam extraction determines the true character of the scent and links the method to the clean aromatic profile of the finished distillate from leaf raw material.
