The organic cultivation of the plantations determines this purity, which is why the composition retains the natural ratio of its compounds. The plantations in Bulgaria develop fleshy roots, and it is in them that the main part of the volatile aromatic compounds of the species naturally accumulates. The species belongs to the family Apiaceae, which unites perennial aromatic plants with dense underground parts. The dense parts release their aromatic fraction during steam distillation, which transfers the volatile constituents into the finished liquid without altering their natural character.
