The species belongs to the family Apiaceae, where the perennial herbaceous plants occupy the temperate zone of Europe and the adjacent areas of the continent. The origin of the raw material points to Bulgaria, where the crop finds suitable conditions and yields roots for the extraction. Only the roots are used, in which the phthalides accumulate noticeably. The phthalides reach the liquid thanks to steam distillation, since the method transfers them in their natural form and preserves the purity of the scent. The purity goes hand in hand with the Bulgarian origin, which stands behind the entire plant raw material for this product in its finished form. In addition, the oil relies solely on the underground part of the plant and thus retains the full olfactory range of the species in the finished liquid.
