Description
We present natural juniper needle essential oil for animals, obtained from the species Juniperus communis. In international practice, the oil is designated as Juniper needle natural essential oil for animals. The plant source is an evergreen coniferous shrub of the family Cupressaceae. The family includes slow-growing species in which the needle-like leaves stand in threes in a whorl around the young twigs and remain green all year round. The needles remain the only plant part used for extraction, and the shrubs thrive in Bulgaria. Bulgaria lies within the natural range of the species, which occupies the temperate latitudes of the Northern Hemisphere and allows a great variety of soil and climatic conditions. The range allows natural cultivation on open terrain in the country, where the shrubs develop without synthetic auxiliary substances being introduced into the soil. Cultivation marks the beginning of the advantages, among which is the purity of the raw material. The purity results from steam distillation, as the volatile substances of the needles pass unchanged into the finished product and preserve the true olfactory profile. The profile rests on monoterpene hydrocarbons, whose predominance in the volatile part of the needles is noted by independent scientific publications for this coniferous species. The hydrocarbons build a strong aroma with a fresh opening that turns into resinous and herbal tones. The tones accompany a liquid consistency with a clear appearance. The consistency also carries a colour that shifts from light yellow to yellow-greenish due to the pigments in the needles themselves. The colour remains the same throughout the entire volume, so the liquid looks homogeneous. The volume contains only entirely natural volatile compounds of the plant, more precisely the substances extracted from the needles. The compounds form a composition without preservatives and without colourants.

Storage

Store natural juniper needle essential oil in a dark, cool and dry place, away from direct sunlight and sources of heat. Maintain a temperature of +5°C to +20°C to prevent oxidation and the loss of beneficial properties. After opening, limit the amount of air in the packaging, and as the contents decrease, transfer the remainder into a smaller, clean and dry bottle. Use only aluminium or glass bottles for animal products, preferably made of dark glass, which protect the essential oil for animals from light. Close tightly after each use so that air and moisture do not penetrate. Observing these conditions preserves the aroma and quality of the product for a longer period.
