Description

Our natural juniper berry hydrolate for aromatherapy is obtained from a plant of the species Juniperus Communis. The product bears the name Juniper Berry Natural Hydrolat. Systematics assigns the species to the Cupressaceae family. The raw material is limited solely to the ripe fruits, and each fruit is a female cone whose scales fuse and form a dense, fleshy structure. The cones are initially reddish and, on ripening, acquire a blue-black color with a dense waxy bloom. The plantations in Bulgaria are managed naturally, in a way that excludes synthetic agents and fertilizers. Steam distillation of the ripe, unfermented fruits determines the purity of the aroma, as solvents are kept out of the extraction and the volatile fraction comes only from the fruit. The oxygenated volatile compounds pass into the aqueous phase, and it is precisely they that set the aromatic character of the finished liquid. The aroma remains strong in intensity. The scent combines freshness, a pine direction and a resinous tone in one recognizable profile. The composition of the volatile fraction is based mainly on monoterpene hydrocarbons such as pinene, myrcene and sabinene. The hydrolate remains a clear liquid, and its color ranges between colorless and pale yellow. The fruit raw material determines the faint color, because the water carries away mostly colorless volatile substances, while the colored parts remain in the fleshy part of the cone. The natural composition rules out preservative and coloring additives in the finished liquid. In addition, the natural cultivation practice and the raw material limited to the fruit yield a liquid composed of plant volatile substances and pure water. Along with its strong scent, the juniper hydrolate remains clear and faintly colored in its finished form.

Storage

Store natural juniper berry hydrolate in a dark, cool and dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Maintain a temperature of +4°C to +10°C to limit the growth of microorganisms. After opening, use the contents within 6 to 12 months and limit the amount of air in the container. Use only aluminum or glass bottles for aromatherapy products, preferably dark glass, which protect the aromatherapy hydrolate from light. Close tightly after each use to prevent air and contaminants from entering. Observing these conditions preserves the freshness and quality of the product for a longer period.
