The species belongs to the Cupressaceae family. Only the ripe fruits are taken for extraction, and in each female cone the scales merge completely into a dense and continuous fleshy structure. The young cones have a reddish appearance, while the ripened ones turn blue-black with a waxy bloom. The plantations in Bulgaria are managed under organic rules, and synthetic agents are left out. An aroma free of impurities comes from the steam distillation of ripe, unfermented fruits, because no external solvents are used at all in obtaining the liquid. It is suitable for creams with a firming action, lip balms with a moisturizing base and foot lotions with a toning action, maintaining a fresh and balanced appearance of the skin.

Storage

Store organic juniper berry hydrolate in a dark, cool and dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Maintain a temperature of +4°C to +10°C to limit the growth of microorganisms. After opening, use the contents within 6 months and limit the amount of air in the container. Use only aluminum or glass bottles for cosmetic products, preferably dark glass, which protect the hydrolate for cosmetics from light.
