Description
We present natural hyssop hydrolate for animals, obtained from the plant Hyssopus officinalis. It bears the name Hyssop natural hydrolate for animals in international practice. The plants develop naturally, and therefore only their own substances enter the liquid, without preservatives and without colorants, while its plant character remains unchanged. The Lamiaceae family encompasses the species, and the fields with the raw material are located in Bulgaria. Steam distillation is behind the purity of the aroma, which is why the herbal side of the distillate is distinctly perceptible and remains stable throughout the profile. The entire aerial stalk together with the inflorescences is used for extraction, which outlines the fullness of the herbal character. The aroma retains medium strength and combines an herbal, sweetish and resinous side. The color varies from colorless to a light yellowish hue. Since the liquid originates from the aerial mass, its color remains light and follows the plant character of the raw material from which it comes. The product appears as a clear liquid with a homogeneous appearance. The volatile fraction collects in peltate glandular trichomes on both surfaces of the leaves, which accounts for the density of the herbal scent in the finished distillate. Among the main volatile substances of the species are pinene, pinocamphone, elemol and germacrene. The species occurs as a subshrub in the temperate biome, while the aromatic substances remain in the aerial part. In addition, the hydrolate retains its original plant appearance. It is precisely the natural cultivation regime and steam processing that explain why the distillate remains true to the original herb in composition and scent. Natural hyssop hydrolate retains a uniform character and a recognizable origin.
