We present natural ginger essential oil for supplements, obtained from the plant with the botanical name Zingiber Officinale. The product is offered under the name Ginger natural essential oil for supplements. The plant belongs to the family Zingiberaceae and forms underground roots with an intense fragrance. The family unites herbaceous perennial species whose underground organs serve as a natural store of aromatic substances and natural plant pigments throughout their life. The roots provide the entire raw material, since it is precisely in them that the volatile compounds accumulate on which the olfactory character of the finished product depends. The raw material grows in plantations on the territory of Bulgaria. Cultivation takes place in a natural way, which is why the finished oil contains no preservatives or colourants, but only plant substances from the raw material itself. The composition unites volatile terpenes, among which the sesquiterpene zingiberene takes the leading place in the distilled oil. Zingiberene shapes the density of the fragrance and gives intensity to the entire olfactory characteristic. The characteristic unfolds in a liquid with a dark yellow to golden hue. The hue originates from the pigments that the underground part accumulates in its tissues alongside the volatile constituents. Steam distillation carries over only the volatile part of the raw material, so the aromatic profile remains pure and true to the substances from the underground organs of the species.
