Description
We present natural geranium wax for cosmetics, obtained from the species Geranium macrorrhizum. In international practice, the product is designated as Geranium natural wax for cosmetics. Behind this designation stands a solid and dense material whose tone ranges from pale yellow to light greenish. The tone is due to the leaves used, whose green pigments enter the wax mass together with the volatile substances that carry the entire fragrance. The mass remains solid and dense, which retains these substances and slows their release. The fragrance combines a sweet and fresh base with a citrus nuance and unfolds gradually throughout the entire volume of the material. The base comes only from the plant tissue of the leaves, and the composition remains entirely natural. Preservatives and colorants remain outside it, so the greenish shade reflects only the leaf raw material. The purity comes from cultivation in Bulgaria, as the plants develop naturally without synthetic auxiliary agents throughout the entire season. The plants are perennial rhizomatous herbs that belong to the Geraniaceae family. The family includes species with aromatic leaves, and this species occupies rocky mountain places across the Balkan Peninsula and in its neighboring regions. The leaves from these places undergo wax extraction, which preserves the purity of the aroma in the final material. In addition, the entire quantity originates from shared plantations, and this brings the tone, scent and density closer together. Geranium wax retains these characteristics in a compact body. The compact body holds a large reserve of volatile components in a small volume.

Application
Natural geranium wax is widely used in the production of creams, balms, lotions and serums, where it serves as a natural base that gives the finished product a soft, silky texture and a pleasant feel when applied to the skin. The wax melts easily at a moderate temperature and blends well with plant oils, seed oils, hydrolates and active substances, which makes it convenient to work with in small workshops and on an industrial scale. In facial care formulations, it helps maintain hydration and forms a protective layer without clogging the pores or burdening the skin. It is suitable for solid and semi-solid cosmetic forms such as lip sticks, peeling balms and solid creams, and at lower concentrations it is successfully incorporated into light day formulas and hydrophilic emulsions. In hair care products, it can be used to produce conditioning masks and styling creams, adding shine and nourishment. Thanks to its delicate floral geranium aroma, the wax adds an unobtrusive perfume nuance without requiring additional aromatic additives and contributes to the feel of a complete botanical product.

Storage

Store natural geranium wax in a dark, cool and dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Maintain a temperature from +10°C to +25°C to preserve the solid consistency and quality. After opening, limit air access and isolate the product from external odors, which the wax readily absorbs. Use only aluminum or glass containers, preferably made of dark glass, which protect the wax from light. Close tightly after each use to prevent air and moisture from entering. Observing these conditions preserves the aroma and quality of the product for a longer period.
