Description

We present natural frankincense hydrolate for aromatherapy, obtained from the resin of the plant with the botanical name Boswellia carterii. Outside the country, the liquid bears the name Frankincense natural hydrolate for aromatherapy. The species belongs to the Burseraceae family, and the raw material reaches processing at the sites in Bulgaria. The plantations are tended in a natural way that excludes chemical agents, which is why the resin remains pure right up to the processing of the raw material. The resin is used for extraction, while the wood and bark are set aside. Steam distillation determines the pure aromatic course, because the aqueous phase takes up the volatile substances of the resin and retains them in the finished liquid itself. The aroma is strong and combines a resinous base with a slightly sweet side in one unified and recognizable course. The resin canals form a network inside the bark, and their most intense activity occurs near the cambium, which is reflected in the richness of the raw material. The color ranges from colorless to a pale yellow tint. The pale yellow tone is due to substances that the resin releases into the aqueous medium. The product appears as a clear liquid with a uniform appearance throughout its entire volume. The constituents of the volatile fraction of the resin include pinene, thujene, limonene, myrcene and octyl acetate, which shape the dense resinous tone. In this species, mainly the polar oxygenated volatile compounds of the raw material pass into the aqueous phase. In addition, water and the volatile substances of the resin enter the liquid, while colorants and preservatives are not part of its finished composition. The natural cultivation regime is evident in the purity of the finished composition. The resinous tone with a light sweetness remains dominant in natural frankincense hydrolate.

Storage

Store natural frankincense hydrolate in a dark, cool and dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Maintain a temperature of +4°C to +10°C to limit the growth of microorganisms. After opening, use the contents within 6 months and limit the amount of air in the container. Use only aluminum or glass bottles for aromatherapy products, preferably dark glass, which protect the aromatherapy hydrolate from light. Close tightly after each use to prevent air and contaminants from entering. Observing these conditions preserves the freshness and quality of the product for a longer period.
