The Asteraceae family groups herbaceous species with milky latex in their tissues and ligulate inflorescences. The sesquiterpene lactones of the underground part include taraxinic acid glucopyranoside, which is responsible for the bitter taste of the tissue. The working medium in the extraction remains supercritical carbon dioxide without added auxiliary liquids or additives. The odour strength lies on the boundary between weak and medium intensity. The fresh ethereal note with a natural character outlines the olfactory direction of the liquid root concentrate. The greenish and light brown shades come from the root bark, which retains chlorophyll, while the deeper tissue contributes resinous and waxy constituents to the liquid. Natural agricultural practice avoids synthetic crop treatments, so the underground organs reach the extraction with an unaltered lipid and sterol profile. The harvest is gathered from Bulgarian fields. The root concentrate contains no residual solvents.
