In international practice the oil is designated as Clary Sage organic essential oil for pharmaceuticals. The name stands behind a product whose qualities begin with the steam distillation of the flowering raw material and reach the purity of its botanical profile. The distillation retains the volatile carriers of the fragrance, which is why the final liquid remains true to the source plant and keeps its fresh plant base. The base is complemented by the fully organic origin of the raw material. The fragrance reaches a medium to strong intensity. The intensity unfolds in a fresh profile that carries a light sweetness and a floral-fruity finish. The finish accompanies a liquid consistency with a colourless to pale yellowish appearance. The appearance originates from the aboveground part of the plant, which remains the only raw material used in building the entire composition. The part grows on a herbaceous plant of the family Lamiaceae, whose stalks bear dense hairiness and develop over two consecutive seasons. The plant occupies fields in Bulgaria, whose climate repeats the conditions of the natural range of the species between the Mediterranean and Central Asia in the temperate zone. The fields are maintained under an organic regime throughout the growing season. The organic regime also determines the composition, since organic farming excludes synthetic detergents in the cultivation of the areas. The composition includes only the plant material of the stalk.
