Description

We present natural basil hydrolate for perfumery, whose raw material belongs to the species Ocimum Basilicum. The distillate is known as Basil Natural Hydrolat Perfumery. The species has its place in the Lamiaceae family, from which its related plants also originate. The liquid looks clear and has a golden yellow color. The color goes together with a scent of medium strength, whose grassy-sweet line unfolds gradually and fills the entire volume of the liquid. The grassy line holds the first impression, while the sweet part remains at the base of the olfactory profile and rounds it off. The olfactory profile results from a composition that remains entirely natural. The composition is based on a distilled aqueous base and the fragrant compounds dissolved in it, while preservatives and colorants are completely absent from it. The fragrant compounds are retained in the aqueous phase at a low concentration, which gives the liquid a restrained and even olfactory development from beginning to end. The aqueous phase is formed during steam distillation of the leaves, which in this product serve as the sole plant raw material and the sole source of scent. The leaves grow in plantations located in the territory of Bulgaria. The plantations are tended naturally, with synthetic protective agents and artificial fertilization kept aside. Natural cultivation maintains the natural volatile reserve in the leaf mass, as the plants grow without chemical intervention foreign to the environment throughout the entire period of development. The volatile reserve goes together with the purity of the distillate, and in addition it rests on gentle extraction. Gentle extraction protects the unstable fragrant compounds and leaves them in the liquid in their natural form. The purity results from the absence of ingredients foreign to the plant in the liquid. The leaf raw material defines the olfactory character of this natural aqueous distillate.
