Description
Our natural basil essential oil for detergents from Greece is obtained from the plant with the botanical name Ocimum basilicum. In international practice, the product is offered under the name Basil natural essential oil for detergents. The product is a homogeneous liquid with a golden yellow colour. The golden yellow colour is explained by the stalk used, which, according to botanists' descriptions, enters the distillation process together with the leaves and flowering tops. The stalk gives the liquid its strong herbaceous-sweet aroma. The herbaceous-sweet aroma is due to linalool and eugenol, whose presence is confirmed by chemical studies of the distillates obtained from this botanical species. Linalool and eugenol remain in the oil after steam distillation. Steam distillation transfers only the volatile substances of the raw material, so the product's scent retains the purity of the plant's fresh aboveground material. The pure scent accompanies the oil's homogeneous liquid consistency. The consistency remains liquid, and the composition also contains no preservatives. The composition is based solely on the plant's essential oil fraction, which is why colourants and other added substances are entirely absent from the product offered. The pure composition results from the natural cultivation of the Greek crops. Natural cultivation takes place in Greece, whose warm Mediterranean climate suits species of the Lamiaceae family and supports the accumulation of essential oils. The crops in this Mediterranean country provide the stalks for the oil offered. The oil contains only substances formed by the plant itself during the growing season. The plant origin of each ingredient is evident in the product's olfactory profile.

Application
Basil essential oil is widely used in the manufacture of cleaning products for the home and professional environments. The aromatic raw material is incorporated into formulations for maintaining kitchen areas, ovens, stoves and hobs, as well as into degreasing products for scorched cookware and heavily soiled surfaces. It is suitable for products for bathrooms, toilets, bathtubs, shower enclosures and tiles, where it adds a fresh herbal note. The oil is included in cleaning solutions for floors, glass, windows, mirrors, window and door frames and furniture, as well as in products for maintaining marble, granite, wood and metal surfaces. It is used in formulations for washing machines and dishwashers, for dishwashing and for washing textiles, imparting a lasting fragrance. Its incorporation into air fresheners and room fragrancing products provides a pleasant scent, while in hygiene solutions for handles, switches, walls, waste bins, air conditioning and ventilation systems, it contributes to overall cleanliness in the home, office, establishments and public spaces. The raw material is also suitable for products intended for car interiors, garden furniture, fitness equipment, shoes, bags and leather goods. Detergent manufacturers value it for its strong herbaceous aroma, which masks unpleasant odours and gives the finished product a rounded character.

Storage

Store natural basil essential oil in a dark, cool and dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Maintain a temperature of +5°C to +20°C to prevent oxidation and the loss of beneficial properties. After opening, limit the amount of air in the packaging, and as the contents decrease, transfer the remainder to a smaller, clean and dry bottle. Use only aluminium or glass bottles for detergents, preferably made of dark glass, which protect the essential oil from light. Close tightly after each use to prevent air and moisture from entering. Observing these conditions preserves the product's aroma and quality for a longer period.
