The trail owes its character to bornyl acetate, an ester cited in scientific literature among the characteristic volatile substances of coniferous trees, which are widespread throughout the temperate zone and in mountainous regions. The ester accumulates in the resin canals of the needles themselves. The canals hold the aromatic reserve through all the months of the year. The reserve ensures a strong intensity that starts resinous and passes through a clear woody heart of the fragrance. The balsamic finish comes at the end, while the opening of the fragrance remains distinctly resinous. The material behind this fragrance shows a thick resinous structure and an even dark green to brown tone. The tone derives precisely from the green needles and remains uniform throughout the entire filled volume, with no visible trace of sedimentation. The dense structure comes from the slower molecules retained together with the mobile ones during the extraction itself.
