The flowers appear singly or in small groups at the ends of the twigs, with five white to pink petals, and the fruit we harvest for its seeds follows them. The botanical place of the species remains in the family Rosaceae, together with the apple, the plum and other fruit genera. The parts used are limited to the seeds, which are separated from the fleshy part of the fruit and dried.
