Description
Our natural Rose Damascena absolute for aromatherapy is obtained from the plant with the botanical name Rosa damascena. In international practice, the product is referred to as Rose Damascena natural absolute for aromatherapy. The plant is of hybrid origin and has for centuries held a permanent place among the cultivated species of Bulgarian agriculture, and its genus belongs to the family Rosaceae. The Bulgarian plantations occupy the Kazanlak Valley and the Karlovo Plain, where the spring flowering lasts only a few weeks at the end of spring. During this short period, harvesting begins precisely before sunrise, because the petals then hold their fullest aromatic reserve of the entire spring season. The growers cultivate the shrubs naturally and refrain from synthetic fertilizers and stimulants. Natural practice leaves the entire volatile reserve in the petals. The petals give a strong scent that opens with a floral character, continues with a broad sweetness and remains dense to the very end of the impression. The sweetness finishes with a warm honeyed accent, while the floral character is noticeable at the beginning. The honeyed accent is carried by an oily liquid with a thick structure and a light yellow to golden coloring throughout its entire depth. The coloring comes from the petals that enter the extraction. The petals also determine the composition, which includes only natural substances. Preservative and coloring additives are not part of it, since natural cultivation does not allow chemical agents around the shrubs throughout the entire growing season. Extraction preserves the honeyed depth of the scent and transfers the entire volatile fraction into the absolute. The fraction also includes the slower molecules, so the material acquires a tangible density. The thick liquid retains its golden tone.

Application
The natural Rose Damascena absolute is used in aromatherapy and gives a floral character to massage oils and diffuser blends. Massage oils acquire from the absolute a sweet scent with a honeyed finish. Its thick, oily consistency allows the product to combine evenly with the vegetable carriers in massage formulations. In addition, the scent retains its fullness in diffuser blends, where the absolute is combined with sandalwood, bergamot or lavender essential oils. Alongside blends, the raw material is used in scented candles, as the wax base retains its volatile constituents. The candles release the scent as the wick burns. The scent also reaches bath salts and wardrobe sachets, in which the product stands as the leading note of the entire fragrance. Bath salts carry the fragrance into the water, so the scent fills the whole bathroom. Sachets retain it in the enclosed space of the wardrobe, and the fabrics inside absorb the floral note. The enclosed space of spa rooms is also freshened with Rose Damascena compositions delivered through the diffusers in the massage rooms.

Storage

Store the natural Rose Damascena absolute in a dark, cool and dry place, away from direct sunlight and sources of heat. Maintain a temperature of +5°C to +20°C to prevent oxidation and the loss of beneficial properties. After opening, limit air access, and as the contents decrease, transfer the remainder into a smaller, clean and dry container. Use only aluminum or glass bottles for aromatherapy products, preferably made of dark glass, which protect the absolute from light. Close tightly after each use to prevent air and moisture from entering. Observing these conditions preserves the aroma and quality of the product for a longer period.
