The composition of the absolute includes only substances from the ripe berries, while preservatives and colourants are absent at every stage of production. The ripe berries release their volatile fraction during extraction without any change in the proportions of the individual aromatic compounds, and the material mirrors the original raw material. Extraction also preserves the fresh side of the entire scent. The fresh base comes from raw material harvested in Bulgaria on open pastures and rocky meadows at full ripeness, when the berries darken completely. These sites receive no chemical agents, since their management remains natural throughout the entire season. Natural conditions leave only its own aromatic compounds in the harvested raw material. The species belongs to the family Cupressaceae, in which the coniferous genera bear scale-like or needle-like leaves arranged densely along the young shoots in all members of the genus. Storage
