Description

We present natural German chamomile hydrolate for pharmaceuticals from the species Matricaria chamomilla. Outside the country, the liquid is offered under the name German Chamomile natural hydrolate for pharmaceuticals. The plants are grown on fields in Bulgaria, from where the raw material comes for processing. The plantations are cultivated naturally. The natural course of cultivation is reflected in the composition, which is why the aqueous phase and the volatile constituents remain in it without added colorants or preservatives. The harvest comes from open fields within the borders of the country. Botanical classification places the species in the Asteraceae family together with other composite plants. Only the flower heads of the plant are used for extraction. The flower head bears white ray florets along its outer edge, while the yellow tubular florets fill the hollow conical receptacle at its very core. The tubular florets take on the main share of the volatile fraction, so the flower raw material stands behind the direction of the overall scent of this product. The volatile substances originate from biseriate glandular hairs of the corolla and the ovary, and the canals in the receptacle fulfill the same role. Steam distillation selects a narrow range of volatile substances from the flower mass, so the aromatic profile remains clearly defined throughout the entire volume of the liquid. The extraction relies entirely on steam. The scent maintains a soft level along its entire length in the aromatic profile. The sweet and warm sides go together, while the fruity nuance completes the overall picture of this aromatic profile. The product is a clear liquid with uniform density throughout its entire volume. The blue tone is based on chamazulene, and matricin in the flower tissue remains its precursor form in this species. The color passes from pale blue to dark blue and directly follows the flower raw material. The soft, sweet course of the scent and the blue color range outline the character of this chamomile distillate.
