Description
We offer natural geranium root hydrolate for cosmetics, obtained from the plant Geranium macrorrhizum. The product bears the name Geranium Root natural hydrolate for cosmetics. The plants are grown naturally on Bulgarian land, which is evident in the purity of the aqueous phase and the volatile part. The raw material comes from the root, so the color ranges from light yellow to greenish. The distillate remains a clear liquid with a uniform structure. Extraction takes place with steam, and for this reason the aromatic picture of the distillate remains clean and free of side tones. The volatile fraction of the underground part brings together elemenone, globulol and guaiene, and from there comes the warm herbal direction of the aroma of the finished product. The aroma follows a herbal line with a warm nuance and a light sweetness. The strength of the scent stays within mild limits. The composition includes water and volatile compounds from the root, with no added preservatives or colorants. Botanical classification places the plant in the Geraniaceae family. The thick, fleshy rhizome creeps along the soil surface and produces a dense underground mass that serves as the main source material of the distillate. The method of cultivation determines the composition, while the root origin of the raw material explains the color range. The plant develops several chemotypes, some with citronellol and geraniol and others with sesquiterpene ketones, which is also reflected in the aromatic picture. The mild strength and the warm herbal direction go together throughout the entire volume of the liquid. In its finished form, the geranium liquid combines clarity, root origin and a mild herbal aroma.
Application
Geranium root hydrolate is widely used in cosmetics as a functional ingredient in face and body care products. It is included in toners with a balancing and firming action, in lotions for sensitive skin, as well as in micellar waters for gentle daily cleansing. It is suitable for day and night creams, anti-wrinkle formulas, and also for products intended for oily and combination skin, where it helps regulate sebum and gives a mattifying effect. It is incorporated into face masks with a cleansing or brightening action, serums with herbal extracts for skin regeneration and eye contour gels with a smoothing effect. Its refreshing character makes it suitable for moisturizing sprays and toning waters that keep the skin fresh throughout the day, as well as for after-sun and after-shave care products. It is also used in cleansing foams and gels with a delicate texture, herbal-based exfoliants, emulsions and fluids for smoothing the skin texture, and also in creams for the hands, neck and décolleté. It also finds a place in decorative products such as foundation with a moisturizing base, as well as in formulas for skin prone to irritation or acne, where it contributes to soothing and maintaining the natural balance.
