Our natural dandelion root CO2 select extract for aromatherapy carries the lipophilic fraction of the plant Taraxacum officinale in liquid form. The Asteraceae family unites herbaceous genera with ligulate flowers in a compound inflorescence. The part used comprises the main root, which in this species grows slightly branched and with a deeply furrowed outer surface. Natural cultivation takes place without synthetic fertilising and without chemical protective agents on the crop, so the underground tissue reaches extraction with its own unchanged set of substances. The plantings occupy field areas in Bulgaria. The extraction relies on supercritical carbon dioxide as the only working medium without auxiliary additives. Residual solvents are absent from the liquid, as carbon dioxide leaves no trace in the finished fraction. The light brown and greenish tones originate from the root tissue, where the outer layer retains resinous substances and the inner layers hold traces of chlorophyll.
