Description
We present natural clove bud essential oil for pharmaceuticals, obtained from the species Syzygium aromaticum. In international practice, the oil is designated as Clove bud natural essential oil for pharmaceuticals. The species belongs to the botanical family Myrtaceae, whose genera develop oil glands in their leaves, while their flowers bear numerous bright stamens. The genera of this family include trees that grow in the plantations of Bulgaria and follow natural cultivation. The trees yield flower buds, which are picked while still closed, as the unopened bud retains the volatile substances of the plant tissue until the extraction itself. The picking of closed buds determines the plant part used for the product. Natural cultivation determines the purity of the raw material, so only the compounds of the flower bud itself end up in the finished oil. The product takes the form of a liquid, free-flowing substance. The substance has a clear to pale yellow colour, which originates precisely from the light inner tissue of the unopened bud. The pale colour remains uniform throughout the entire depth of the liquid on inspection. The liquid gives off a fragrance with a strong and sharp character. The fragrance rests on a sweet and astringent base that finishes with a clear fruity note. The base passes into the final product through steam distillation, and this method separates only the volatile constituents and preserves the olfactory purity of the liquid. The pure liquid acquires an entirely natural composition of plant origin. Added preservatives and added colourants remain outside the composition of the clove oil.
