Description
We present natural clary sage essential oil for drinks from Ukraine, obtained from the species with the botanical name Salvia sclarea. In international practice, the liquid is designated as Clary Sage natural essential oil for drinks. The consistency of the oil remains liquid and mobile. The colour of the liquid remains pale yellowish and light when viewed in daylight. The light tone comes from the stalk used, as the aboveground green plant material contributes few colouring substances to the finished distillate of our oil. The aromatic profile of our liquid combines freshness with light sweetness and warmth, while its intensity reaches a medium to strong level. The purity of the profile is due to steam distillation, which transfers the volatile substances unchanged. The composition of the distillate remains entirely natural, and preservatives and colourants are not part of it. The purity of the composition results from the natural cultivation method in the Ukrainian fields. The fields in Ukraine yield a plant from the Lamiaceae family, which develops herbaceous aboveground plant material during the vegetation period. The Lamiaceae family brings together species with essential oils in their aboveground organs, and our species follows a biennial or perennial development in the temperate zone. The green plant material undergoes steam distillation as the only part used. The advantages come from the Ukrainian origin, from the choice of the plant part and from the steam method of extraction. In addition, the composition retains the full range of volatile substances of the source raw material. All the raw material for our product comes from the aboveground part of the Ukrainian crops.

Application
Natural clary sage essential oil is used in the production of drinks as a flavouring and aromatic ingredient. The ingredient is present in both alcoholic and non-alcoholic formulations. The alcoholic group includes above all vermouth, in which the oil traditionally serves to season the flavour. Vermouth is essentially a spiced wine, which is why plant spices define its character. In addition, the raw material fulfils the same role in muscat wines and in liqueurs. Non-alcoholic drinks complete the group of finished products in which the raw material participates as a source of scent. In all these beverages, the role of the oil is flavouring and aromatic, as the flavour manufacturing industry classifies it among natural flavouring substances. The role is based on the fragrance with freshness, light sweetness and warmth. The fragrance reaches the finished drink together with the liquid consistency of the oil, which blends with the liquid base of vermouth and of the other spiced wines. In this way, the raw material becomes part of the scent of muscat wines and liqueurs.

Storage

Store natural clary sage essential oil in a dark, cool and dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. Maintain a temperature of +5°C to +20°C to prevent oxidation and changes in quality. After opening, limit the amount of air in the packaging, and as the contents decrease, transfer the remainder into a smaller, clean and dry bottle. Use only aluminium or glass bottles for drink products, preferably made of dark glass, which protect the essential oil for drinks from light. Close tightly after each use so that air and moisture do not penetrate. Compliance with these conditions preserves the quality and safety of the product for a longer period.
