Description
Our natural clary sage essential oil for aromatherapy is obtained from the plant with the botanical name Salvia sclarea. In international practice the product is designated as Clary Sage natural essential oil for aromatherapy. The plant belongs to the family Lamiaceae, whose species accumulate their volatile substances in glandular structures located mainly on the aboveground part and on the calyx of the flower. The aboveground part, called the stalk, provides the only raw material for the product. The stalk originates from Bulgaria, where the species is cultivated industrially and occupies considerable areas in the traditional regions for growing essential oil crops. The raw material yields an oil with a colour ranging from colourless to pale yellowish. The colour remains light, since the stalk used gives off its volatile fraction, while the pigments of the plant tissue remain outside the distillate. The aroma is distinguished by a medium to strong intensity. The scent reveals fresh and slightly sweet tones, to which a clearly pronounced floral-fruity note is added. The note results from the fully natural composition of the product, which does not include added preservatives. The composition also remains free of colourants, and the natural cultivation method maintains its purity. Storage
